FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (USA) – Brian Kane, Director of Research & Development for marine security and tracking products supplier GOST™ (Global Ocean Security Technologies), was one of the featured speakers at the Offshore Search, Rescue & Safety Seminar at the Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island on May 31.
The unique event, sponsored by Chartis, Triton Insurance and the Newport Shipyard, was attended by New England area boat crews, vessel captains, marine insurance representatives and yacht management professionals. Kane gave the group an overview of the latest yacht safety, security, tracking, monitoring, video surveillance, acoustic deterrent and cloaking technologies. “Unfortunately, we live in a world where protecting lives and property at sea or at the dock is more challenging than ever. It’s important for all segments of the marine industry involved in asset management to be aware of the defensive products and monitoring services available,” he said.
The seminar also featured the U.S. Coast Guard Safety & Rescue Team performing a rescue at sea demonstration with an MH-60T helicopter.
