FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (USA) – A GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies) NT- Evolution 2.0 marine security, monitoring, and tracking system aided in the recovery of a stolen 36’ Yellowfin on a trailer towed from Titusville, Florida to Miami-Dade County. –

The Yellowfin was on a trailer in a fenced warehouse area when thieves began to tow it away in the middle of the night. When the boat was moved, the protective geo-fence around the vessel was broken and the GOST NT-Evolution 2.0 immediately started sending text messages and emails to the owner.

The owner logged into the Nav-Tracker web site to track his vessel and saw his boat sitting on a remote property in Southwest Miami Dade County. The owner called GOST and the company support staff immediately passed the location information to local police in Miami Dade to assist in the recovery of the boat.

Many insurance companies now require tracking and other security equipment provided by GOST (and other suppliers) on many high-end center consoles and other vessels that tend to be prime targets for theft.

Atlass Insurance was the marine insurance provider for the owner of the stolen Yellowfin. “The GOST Nav-Tracker system proved to be a very valuable piece of equipment in this incident. It pin-pointed the boat’s movement following the theft and provided the thieves secret location in real time, leading to recovery and arrests,” said Scott Stamper, Senior Vice President of Atlass Insurance.

The GOST NT-Evolution 2.0 is a marine grade, water resistant, wireless security, monitoring and tracking system that provides global arm/disarm and relay control over satellite from anywhere in the world, with the reassurance of a battery back-up. It broadcasts to the GOST tracking web site, which incorporates an advanced Google Earth interface and uses the Inmarsat network of satellites for ultra-reliability.
