- Firstly, it can operate as a traditional siren or alarm that draws attention to any intruder trying to come aboard. This will in turn act as a deterrent much in the same way as a house alarm or car alarm by signalling that security or police are on the way so the intruder will want to make a quick getaway. In siren mode a single GOST Acoustic Barrier can cover areas up to 80 square meters or 850 square feet. Larger areas can be covered with several units.

This mode is achieved by pairs of or multiple units and works by emittingharsh sounds at multiple very high frequencylevels at the same time. The device is capable of producing approximately 125 decibels of intolerable sound in a one meter radius. This is extremely unpleasant and it causes an intruder to become disorientated and so uncomfortable that it triggers an automatic primal response and they instinctively cover their ears for protection. The sound is so overbearing that the intruder will enter into flight mode and act to remove him/herself from the area being protected, which quickly and effectively removes the intruder from your vessel.
